Wednesday August 28

So today was extremely hot!

Yesterday me my mom and grandma went to my work for a pedicure :) it was really nice

We went to the little animal farm with my nefew. He loved it!!

Later on I had my lesson which went really well! We were outside and we got Simon to do his complete flying lead change without a pole! It was amazing and made me very happy!

So the show did get canceled this weekend, but its not too bad .. now that show season is over for me we are planning on doing a clinic over the winter! Which will be fun.

So pretty little liars last night tho O.O i cant believe Ezra is A!

Heres a photo of a peacock from today at the little animal park :) and a photo of my toes from my pedicure

Tuesday August 27

So today marks exactly 1 week until I go back to school... ew

Today was like no other, busy. First I went out to the barn to ride, inside because of the terrible storm we had yesterday. Then I got home and got ready and my mother, grandmother and I went to my work for a spa day. My Mum and I had pedicures while my Grandmother had a manicure. It was really nice and afterwards I bought some nail polish. Then as soon as we got home I had to leave and go to work and that is where I have been since.

I am currently going slightly insane as the Pretty Little Liars Summer finale was tonight and I haven't been able to watch it yet and apparently it is everywhere so I can't go on any social media site until I have watched it! (Currently working on that haha)

In other words I'm supposed to have a show this weekend, but I am not sure.. The rain has been really bad and it is calling for more and since it isn't a show for points not many people have been signing up so it may get cancelled all together.

I have a lesson tomorrow YAY!

Well I am gonna go have a heart attack and watch Pretty Little Liars now!

bye <3

August 21 lesson

So it is officially 12 days until school starts.. I'm not impressed. It is the start of my last year in High School and it is a scary thought. It is also 10 days until my next show :D. It is on September 1st at my barn! I am of course showing in the hopeful jumpers (like I've been doing all summer.. maybe I will post a post about what you have missed while I haven't been writing... even though I know that no one reads this LOL)

So today I had a jumping lesson and it was FANTABULOUS! Simon was an angel (who has a slight darkside (; ) and for the most part was really good! He jumped everything very well and really got me confident coming up to this show!

One slight downfall was when I was doing a rollback he landed on the wrong lead and I just went with it.. it didn't end well... he ended up slipping in his backend because of how hard the ground is (he was corked in the front) and nearly falling down completely. Fortunately he caught himself and was completely fine and once on the right lead after a little walk he was able to do the turn.

Tomorrow is the second last time I am going to be doing volunteer work this summer! It is sort of bitter sweet as even though it causes me to have to wake up early every Thursday, seeing the looks on most of the riders faces *I volunteer with the therapeutic riding program where disabled children and adults come to ride horses* after their ride really makes it worth it.

I hope everyone is enjoying their last week of no school!

Here's two random photos of Simon from this month!

Guitar

So recently me and my sister bought a guitar and I've been teaching myself songs! I've taught myself Wonderwall by Oasis, a bit of Blown Away by Carrie Underwood and the start of Beside you by Marianas Trench!

If you are ever thinking if its worth buying guitar it is! Your fingers will hurt for a little but if you play everyday and really work at it its very rewarded and stress relieving! :)

Today's ride

Well today was interesting. At first everything was normal I walked up hopped on and started warming up. Around one corner Si took a strange step but I didn't really think about it because he is constantly tripping and I assumed that was what it was. I was walking past that corner when I noticed a shoe on the ground and then realized that it was indeed Simon's after most likely looking like a complete retard trying to tell if he had lost one or not without getting off. Along with his shoe he took a piece of his hoof it wasn't too big so hopefully it was not an issue. Bigger issue was that one of the nails were still in the hoof, now I couldn't see it in the sole but apparently one of the trainers at the barn could so it shouldn't have been an issue when the farrier got there (thank god). The farrier had been at the barn earlier and kindly agreed to return later on to put the shoe back on. This is one of the many times that Simon's lost his shoe... A couple other times he lost both at the same time. These incidents occurred within 2 weeks ... Anyways so the good news is that Simon most likely has his shoe on already and the fatty got to spend the day in a stall with hay and water after around 15 minutes of work. Oh did I forget to mention, Simon has gotten slightly obese 😉.

Well that's my post for today and I won't be at the barn until my lesson on Wednesday so I will see you soon.

I leave you with this photo from our first off site show from a few weeks past.

Alive again

So i guess it's been a while.. sorry about that I kind of forgot all about the world of blogging for a while.

ANYWAYS life has been good (: summer is going fantastic and I've been riding a ton! We've even started being able to do flying lead changes with Simon (: Although I had my first fall off of Simon this summer. Ive actually fallen off twice now, once a while ago and once yesterday :p. First one was because of a refusal and yesterdays he was just being cranky and decided to dump me. But other than that Si has been super!

I went to my friends housewarming party yesterday :D it was really fun and everything was entertaining. We watched Mulan and How To Train a Dragon. We enjoy cartoons. My friend who moved to Perth showed up as a surprise which was nice, even though id seen her the night before. Lol

The night before I went to my friend (also the friend who moved to Perth)'s musical "Tommy" It was done really well and I really enjoyed it. Another friend who watched it with me had the upsetting adventure of cracking his iPhone... it was unfortunate.

I hope to start doing what I said I would and actually posting after every ride so Ill have another post later today :)

Sunday 17 March 2013

I'm alive!

Sorry I have absolutely stopped posting ... It's a bad habit but ill try to continue posting as there is a couple exciting things coming!

First I have a clinic on Easter weekend. Me and my friend get 2 one and a half hour semi private lessons with Joerge Muenzner. He's German and in the 90's he won a silver medal in show jumping at the Olympics! I'm so excited to take Simon in this! It's one day of gym line work and one day of courses so it should be fun.

Second I have my New York City trip coming up in May!! It is going to be a blast as I have never been to the city before, just Lake Placid and some malls on the outskirts of the state. It's a school trip and we get to go to the Empire State Building and even a broadway show!

And finally my first show is coming!! I'm most likely just doing the ones at home since its my first year showing jumper and first year showing with Simon but it'll be so much fun. The first Ashland show is on June 1st and I plan on doing it so it should be quite the adventure!

Hopefully this didn't bore you to death :p

Oh and I am slowly going gluten free! Should also be a fun adventure :p

See ya

tv tv and more tv part 2

Hello world and welcome to my second instalment of 'tv tv and more tv'

I'm going to be talking about the tv show Pretty Little Liars. Most of you have probably heard of it, if you haven't, get a netflix account and get caught up now! (oh and don't read any farther... I wouldn't want to ruin things for you)

It is a tv series about a group of 5 girls who have a mysterious stalker (for lack of better words) who came about after one of their friends went missing and was later found to be killed. The story is a triller and brings a lot of suspense to the watcher. We just recently found out that Toby is part of the A team (the team that is terrorising the 5 girls lives.. we know who many of the members of this team are, we just don't know who is controlling them) which made me quite sad. I love Soby and I really liked Toby until I found out that he has been betraying her.

We also found out in this weeks episode that Emily may or may not have killed Alison... now I don't want to believe she did this, but during a hypnotherapy session she brought back a memory of standing over a terrified Alison with a shovel.

This show just keeps getting more and more suspenseful! I can't wait for the next episode ever! I just hope the finale of this season isn't too suspenseful and doesn't make me annoyed that i'll have to wait another long amount of time to watch it again.

oh and Community just started their new season! I liked the first episode, I just wish that they hadn't have used the 'ABED TV' segment with the really obnoxious laugh track and where Abed replaced Pierce... but other then that the rest of the episode was the same hilarious stuff :)

I will try to get the 3rd and final segment of 'tv tv and more tv' up sometime next week :)

see ya :3

Riding lately and things coming up :)

Hello world :)

So while I have been not on here from lack of time, riding has been getting better and better! On March 29-April 1st there is a jumper clinic with Joerge Muenzner (a jumper, won a silver medal in the Barcelona Olympics) which my friend Jessica and I will be participating in :). As well as May gets closer and closer that means my trip to New York is coming :) it is going to be awesome!

I am also starting driver's Ed tomorrow, which should be very interesting haha. With my job, drivers ed, school and riding my life is going to be pretty busy.

Second semester has started at school. Which I am pretty sure I have already talked about, lets just say bio is all about watching movies and listening to random rants from my teacher. Drama is awesome, and the wolf game is fun... but waayyyy more fun when you don't get out first round, being a wolf and having the hunter be killed and take you down with him. English is... english... I should be working on a character analysis right now but writing this seems like so much more fun :P. And Chemistry.... Chemistry is pretty interesting.. but the amount of people who are wayyyy over thinking everything are getting on my last nerve because I can't tell if they are trying to make our class take longer or just basically super confused. I just wish they would actually read the notes he's given to us that describe in great detail what you need to know.

Noooow... I should reallly get back to work :P

see ya :P

Saturday 2 February 2013

Welcome back me :)

I'm back world! =D

Exams are finally over and done with and now that semester two has started I finally have time to blog again - hopefully!

This semester I have a full course load of chemistry, drama, English and biology and to be completely honest my favourite classes so far have got to be (in order);
1. Drama
2. Chemistry
3. Bio
4. English
In both bio and English I sit alone (ok that's a lie in bio I sit next to someone I just don't talk to them, at all.. Awkward) I do have friends in English, just my teacher so nicely gave us a seating plan and being the one with the last name with the highest letter in the alphabet in this class I got to sit all by my self beside no one on the exact opposite side of the room to all my friends. Bio is only higher then English because my teacher is hilarious and entertaining, my English teacher, not so much.

Now I'm going to plan on getting my second instalment of 'tv tv and more tv' posted sometime this week with my take on Pretty Little Liars, which has gotten VERY good lately so it should be good :)

I'm also riding tomorrow with my friend :D I have a riding buddy for once!! Haha so I will try to get a photo of Simon for that :)

For now , I hope everyone is enjoying the first few days of their second semester in high school

Peace out y'all

UPDATE

Hello world

Sorry I've been so inactive, I guess I restarted this blog at a bad time haha

Life has gotten insane with exams starting on Thursday this week, I've been really busy trying to study but I'm a major procrastinator so I'm surprised I haven't been posting about anything :p

Simon has been amazing :) just going so well and really starting to listen to me. I also was riding bareback and got off and was able to get him to follow me around the ring at both the walk and trot :3 it was possibly one of the best moments I've had with him so far <3 it just made me super happy

I hope everyone with exams this week does well and here's to the start of semester two :)

Oh and I will continue my 'tv tv and more tv' series once exams are over!!

Tv tv and more tv part 1

Ok so lately I've been finding myself getting more and more immersed in tv shows. It doesn't help with all the winter premieres of my favourite shows that are out and I haven't had time to watch. I will warn you now, I may accidental put in some spoilers so if you haven't watched the latest PLL or up to season 3 episode 9 of community and don't want to hear spoilers I will warn you now there may be a few.

First off there is Community. Community is a tv show that is based on the lives of a study group that's made up of 7 people who go to a community college. Here's descriptions of the main characters to my best attempt;

Jeff - Jeff is a former lawyer, actually I should say he was never legally a lawyer, he got a fake degree and became a lawyer, a good one as well. He has returned to community college to get this degree. Oh and he and Britta are having secret sex (;

Britta - Britta is big on human rights and in season 2/3 decides to major in psychology. She is known as the stoner. Oh and she and Jeff are having secret sex ;) (if you don't know what I'm talking about, watch s02e21!)

Abed - he is possibly the weirdest character to ever be portrayed on tv but is one of the best characters on the show. Best friends with Troy who later moves into a new apartment together with Annie His brain works like a computer and is portrayed as the 'nerd'

Troy - Troy is the 21yr old who is sort of stupid. He is best friends with Abed and he used to be a jock in high school but now through his friendship with Abed has turned into a more 'nerdy' character.

Annie - Annie is the youngest of the group and is seen by the rest as mrs innocent, when really she isn't. She was the outcast in high school and got heavily addicted to narcotics. She is now seen as the 'hot school chick' stereotype and there have been a few encounters between her and Jeff who is almost old enough to be her father ...

Shirley - Shirley is often seen as the 'mother' of the group given her age and the fact that she has 3 children at home, one of which was born during the anthropology final exam in season 2. She is a very religious woman and often frowns upon Jeff and Britta. She is often in no better words 'sassy'

Pierce - pierce is the oldest member of the group. He is a sexist racist old man who is usually excluded by the rest of the group. That's pretty much all I have to say about him haha

The dean - the dean is not a part of the study group, like the above 7 but he is a big character in the show. He always seems to walk in on their meetings, usually dressed up, to announce completely irrelevant news. He is a very flamboyant man and has been portrayed to have a thing for Jeff.

Chang - Chang is the Chinese outsider who always wants to be in the study group. He is always trying to think of new ways to get in the group as well. He very often uses his name as a name for something else, for example "I know this school like the back of my Chang" which I find quite creepy, Jeff usually calls him out on it though.

Ok I just took a huge long rant About community so instead of putting the other two shows in this post, I'll post them in the following days, and have a little series.

I hope you enjoyed this, hope I didn't bore you with my rant :p

Tuesday "lesson" + Wednesday Lesson

Hello world to my second post centred around a ride, it's just one day late, OOPS

So yesterday I went to the barn at 5:30 for my lesson, but as I was walking past the arena and my coach called me over, turns out she had an appointment and they couldn't take her at any time other then 6:30 so we are in the process of rescheduling my lesson.

But I did still ride! Here's a photo of Simon when I went out to get him :P He's so cute :)

So For my ride I warmed up and then I decided that I was going to work on our lead changes. Although Simon hasn't done any full lead changes in the time that I have been leasing him (since September) and so I only did simple changes. Usually with simple changes he can be a bit picky, but yesterday he was really good  and listened to me when I asked him to come back. Once I finished doing this Simon had gotten pretty sweaty so I decided to cool him down bareback. Here's a picture of him before I got on :)

^I took these photos while trying to get him to follow me, didn't work LOL
I walked him out bareback for at least 15 minutes because of how sweaty he was aha.

Ok, today I had a lesson, but unfortunately I forgot to get any photos but I will just explain what happened. I warmed up like usual then did spiral in and spiral out and then we worked on getting Simon into a "package" Here is a photo that easily explains it :)

I got this from here

He went amazing, now I have ANOTHER lesson on Sunday and it will be a jumping lesson so I'm pretty excited!

Sunday 6 January 2013

Sunday Practise ride :)

Hello world to my first post centred around my ride today :)

As my friends who live around me know, today was a very snowy day and so I was for sure riding inside. But before I went riding I treated myself to a pedicure with my sister :) Here's a photo of my toes afterwards.
If you are ever thinking about getting a pedicure but aren't sure if its worth it, it is! It was my first ever pedicure and it was amazing and my feet felt amazing afterwards!

Anyways, back to my riding. I went out to the barn at around 2:30 and went out to get Simon who was thankfully near the gate. But he was covered in snow! Here's a photo of when he got inside, but this is after i brushed him off a little bit.
Once I got all the snow off of him and tacked him up I went into the arena and warmed up. There was a few other ladies in the barn and they had a cavaletti and a pole set up, as they left they asked if I was going to use them and I decided I'd challenge myself and do it. Simon was great over the cavaletti at the trot both directions and at the canter in one direction, but I'm not sure about the other direction he just wasn't feeling it haha. Once I got him over the cavaletti a few times and cantered around a few more times I cooled him down bareback. By cooled down I mean I mostly walked but I did trot just a bit :P . Here's a photo of Simon after our ride :)
My next lesson is on Tuesday and if it isn't snowing I might go for a hack Wednesday :)

See yea later :P

I have school tomorrow :/ blah

Saturday 5 January 2013

Josh Ramsay

Hello world :)

so as most of my friends know, I have a slight addiction to Marianas Trench and their lead singer Josh Ramsay. (He is so attractive it's unreal!) So today, while watching a movie, I started looking up random Marianas Trench quotes and such, and I ended up finding a really in depth interview Josh did about his addictions and depression and decided that I'd post a post that's centered around Marianas Trench and include it, I'll put it in the bottom of this post :).

This was left as an anonymous message in our ask box, by someone doing a research project on mental health. They asked that you please do not claim it as your own.

Q: For people who don’t know your story, could you tell us a little about your past… List the things you dealt with?

Josh: For a long time, I dealt with depression, which I guess started pretty young for me… I don’t know exactly how old or anything, but at the latest, early teens I guess. That probably caused a lot of my other issues later in life really. Uh, my main issue, I think was my heroin addiction which lasted for about 2 years before I went to treatment for it. Umm, I also dealt with bulimia, and for a short period of time anorexia.

Q: Wow, I didn’t realize you went through so much. Were your family and friends aware of all of this?

Josh: You’d be surprised how many people you probably know that are dealing with a lot of similar issues. If you don’t want people knowing, it’s easy enough to hide honestly, and I think that’s one of the main reasons so many people get stuck in these disorders, because no one can really tell until you’re in too deep.

Q: I guess that’s true. What was your family life like… Did your home life cause any of your problems do you think?

Josh: No, my family is actually really supportive and loving. A lot of people have these stories of like, abuse and stuff, and that causes their problems, and then a lot of people have great lives and family and friends and still end up with issues. It’s just the makeup of your brain I guess.

Q: That makes sense. So which of your problems I guess we’ll call them, came first?

Josh: like I said, my depression I think started when I was really young. ‘Cause it has to do with chemical imbalances in the brain, so it’s not like you can gain depression… You either have it or you don’t, it just depends when it’s going to start affecting you. So that was first, and shortly after I started to be affected by it… feeling it anyway, I started self-harming.

Q: Self-harming as in cutting yourself, yeah?

Josh: Yeah. I think I forgot to list that at the beginning, sorry.

Q: No problem. Self-harming is a big problem in teens nowadays, would you agree?

Josh: Yeah, from what I see, there are so many kids doing it now, it’s really sad. It can really mess you up, because you start to believe you deserve it, and no one really deserves that.

Q: So why do people do it? Could you tell us a bit about why you did… what it did for you?

Josh: Umm, *laughter*. Yeah, sorry. I don’t know, I guess uh, for me anyway, my depression kind of made me feel really, trapped I guess, and I was always dealing with this emotional pain, and the cutting was kind of just a release of all that. It kind of made it leave my internal, and made it external, which I thought was a lot easier to deal with.

Q: Because it made the pain physical?

Josh: Exactly. I’m glad you were able to decipher that mess of an explanation!

Q: So, what came next? Did anyone find out about your depression and self-harm before anything else happened?

Josh: Umm, no, I kept that a secret for a long time. I don’t know how long it was after I started that, but I began to have like, body issues. I thought I was fat, and it’s not like I was the skinniest person ever, but looking back now, I know I wasn’t that much bigger than anyone else. At the time though, I felt I was, so I stopped eating. Well, like… I would eat, just not enough, and I lost quite a bit of weight off that, but then I’d start to eat regularly again, cause I couldn’t stand being hungry all the time, and I’d gain all the weight back. It was just a big yo-yo diet and it made me feel worse about myself.

Q: So that was your time with anorexia? How did you get out of that cycle?

Josh: Yeah. I mean, my parents noticed pretty quickly when I stopped eating their meals, and was losing weight so quickly, so they started making me eat normally again, but then I still wasn’t happy, cause I was still stuck in that anorexic frame of mind that it was too much.

Q: Did you see a doctor that diagnosed you with anorexia, or…?

Josh: I was diagnosed later on. At that point, my parents though it was a phase for the most part, and that once I started eating normally again, I had gotten over it.

Q: Ah. So from there, is that when bulimia set in?

Josh: Yeah, once I couldn’t skip meals anymore, I felt like I still needed a way to control my eating, you know? So I’d eat normally, or more than normally eventually, which is a binge I guess, and I’d excuse myself to the bathroom after to throw up. It was a lot easier to hide, for me, because I could do it in private, and didn’t have to lie all the time. When you’re constantly saying no thanks to food, people around you start to notice, and that’s why my parents caught on so fast, but with purging [the throwing up after a binge], it was like, no one had to know. I’d finish eating like everyone else, and then go somewhere private and get rid of it. At the time, I thought it was genius to be honest.

Q: So at the time, did you even know that bulimia and anorexia existed? Or was it something you were totally unaware of, and thought you had found this great new weight loss method?

Josh: At the time, no I didn’t know what they were. Like, I knew they weren’t great, but for me they worked, and I guess it was kind of another method of self-harm. All of my issues were kind of rooted in self-destruction and that all sprouted from my depression. I don’t even think I really lost that much weight during my bulimia, to be honest. But at the time it was all I had so I kept doing it.

Q: Did your parents find out or notice before you moved on to other things?

Josh: Other things being drugs?

Q: Yeah *laughter* sorry.

Josh: *laughing* No problem. I started experimenting a lot with weaker drugs and alcohol. Like, I smoked a lot of marijuana and tried ecstasy and shrooms, and stuff, but only at like, parties and stuff. I did an outpatient program for bulimia, where you go to a centre a couple days a week, to get checkups and go through therapy and stuff, but you still live at home, and use meal plans that the centre provides you with, and that was all shortly before I actually tried heroin for the first time.

Q: So, how hard was it to let go of bulimia?

Josh: It was scary more than anything. Um, I guess it kind of becomes a part of you. Once I was done with it, I was happy that I didn’t have to run to the bathroom after meals anymore, but like, I still had those urges for a long time, and the feelings of things being too much and the guilt and stuff. It took a long time to go away for the most part.

Q: I can see why it would be difficult. After you got over the bulimia, is that when you first tried heroin?

Josh: It was during my recovery process. I went over to a friend’s house for a party, and a couple people I knew were smoking it, and asked if I wanted to try. I’m not going to lie and say I didn’t want to try it, because at the time I did. Like I said, it was another form of self-destruction, and I thought it would help me escape a lot of the problems I was dealing with, and so I tried it. And really, after the first time I smoked it, I was hooked on it. It’s extremely addictive and if you ever get the chance to try it, or any drug for that matter, just say no, because it only takes one time and can mess up your whole life.

Q: You said you smoked it. Isn’t heroin usually taken intravenously?

Josh: Yeah, that’s a more common way to take it, but I never used needles. I think mainly because it is easier to hide… needles leave track marks and then you have to throw out the used ones and I didn’t want people knowing once I was hooked on it.

Q: Did you know immediately that you wanted help to quit?

Josh: Not at all. Like I said, it was almost a 2 year addiction, started at 16, and it was away to numb all my feelings. Umm, eventually, my parents found out, and sent me to therapy sessions and stuff, but I didn’t really want to quit, so it didn’t help at all. Eventually, they told me I either went to rehab, and at least tried to get clean, or I had to leave their house. And like, I was 17 and didn’t have a job, so I couldn’t get kicked out, so I went to rehab just to get them off my back, and to be able to say well, I tried sorry. But uh, yeah, once I had it out of my system for a month or so, I realized how much better off without it I was.

Q: Do you think if your parents hadn’t given you that ultimatum, that you would still be addicted to it?

Josh: I think if they hadn’t made me quit, I would be dead. As it is, I was really lucky to get out healthy and alive. So many people die from overdoses and just doing stupid shit while on it, and I really am extremely lucky to be alive right now.

Q: Was quitting heroin hard on you?

Josh: *Laughing* Oh god, it was horrible. The first couple days off it, I don’t think I went more than 20 minutes without throwing up. I couldn’t eat or sleep, and my body wouldn’t cooperate well enough to walk straight. It was definitely hard.

Q: So right now, do you use any drugs or alcohol, or have any habits that you used to have… like, do you still have anorexic or bulimic tendencies, or self-harm or anything?

Josh: Um, I drink a lot of Coke *laughs*. But no, I smoke cigarettes, but am trying really hard to quit that. Uh, I don’t think you, well I don’t think I will anyway, completely rid myself of the thoughts and urges for any of that, but I know how to control it and get rid of those thoughts now. Um, it helps a lot that I am surrounded by people who support me so much, and like, know about the stuff I dealt with and are willing to listen to me when I am having a hard time. Once I get off cigarettes, it’ll be the first time since I was like, 16 that I have been totally clean. I’m excited to get to that point cause it’s been a tough road.

Q: I bet that’s really exciting. You must feel really proud of yourself for getting over so many obstacles.

Josh: yeah, but like I said, if I didn’t have the support network that I do, I don’t think I could have done it, so I owe my friends and family my life pretty much. I’m really grateful to have them.

Q: Do you have any advice for people who might be suffering with similar issues?

Josh: Definitely. Uh, even if you don’t think you need help, tell someone who cares. Cause like, if you get too far in, you won’t be able to get out alone, or sometimes at all. And even if you think your problem isn’t serious enough, cause like, when I was dealing with my eating disorders, like, I knew they were bad, and I shouldn’t be doing it, but I was dragged in and couldn’t stop on my own. But I felt like there were people who were far worse off and were dying and all I was doing was eating weird. But like, no matter how small your problem seems, it’s still a problem, and there are still things that can be done to get you help.
Or if you don’t think you want help, believe me, it’s a lot better once you’re sober or healthy. And like, I know a lot of people might feel like they don’t have anyone who would be willing to help them, or care about their problems, but there are tons of hotlines and anonymous support groups and stuff you can go to. And I mean, if you really don’t know what to do, me and the rest of the band are really supportive, and like, if you are having a hard time dealing with something, you can reach us on twitter, or Tumblr… the band has a Tumblr blog where you can leave messages and stuff, and on our Facebook page or Myspace, but I don’t know if Ian still uses that so much anymore. Anyway, there’s tons of ways you can reach us if you’re stuck and need advice or something. Cause like, I don’t want anyone to have to go through what I did, but I know it happens and it is important to get out while you can.

Q: Lastly, do you think your addictions and disorders influenced your creative process at all? Musically speaking.

Josh: Definitely. I think it really enhanced my writing actually… it gave me a lot more meaningful topics to write about and I always had some sort of feeling or situation that I needed to get out and it came out in music. A lot of our songs are based around my issues and whatever, so I think in a way it was good for my writing. But like, I’d never recommend it. You can write amazing music, or make amazing art or be amazing at whatever you aspire to do in life without drugs or mental problems. It’s not worth it in the end, because either way, it still takes lots of hard work and practice and as long as you push yourself in whatever you are doing, you will succeed.

Q: Thank you so much for your time. I know it’s a hard subject to talk about and I really appreciate you doing this.

Josh: Not a problem. It is an uncomfortable topic, but I’m glad it will be put towards helping others who are in a tough situation. Thanks so much.

^note I got this from here

hello world

Hello world, I have decided, once again to restart my blog but with a twist. I will post some posts that are utter nonsense and just make me happy, but i'll also post what i do in my lessons and practise rides with Simon! After every ride I'll get a photo of Simon and post it on here with a description of what I do!

Even though I know no one reads this, I think it'll be nice to be able to go back and see what I've done with Simon a year from now!

I guess for the people who do read this I should give you a brief description of Simon and what we are doing etc.

name: Simon
Age: 5
discipline: hopeful jumper

Simon is my current lease. I am leasing him from one of the boarders at the barn. I am currently working with my coach on getting him to be a trillium jumper :) only .90 but it'll be both me and his first time showing jumper. I showed bronze hunter last year and his owner took him to a bronze hunter show last year.

Here's a photo :)

^me and Simon (instagram photo ftw)

Hope you enjoyed this, my first serious post will be on Sunday :)
